Who We Are
AK Studio is a two-photographer team based in Zurich.
Anastasia Karpenko leads all creative direction, primary shooting, and post-production.
Obada El Bitar covers second camera, on-site logistics, guest coordination, and optional instant printing.
We work as a unit. Every wedding gets two photographers, two perspectives, and one consistent editing vision.
Why SOHO
SOHO Zürich is a space built for atmosphere. It doesn't need a photographer who fights the venue, it needs one who understands it. We shoot with available light when possible, work with real environments over artificial setups, and prioritize images that feel like they belong in the space where they were made.
Our approach: intentional composition, minimal intervention, and images that look like art not templates.
How the Partnership Works
  • SOHO recommends AK Studio to couples booking the venue
  • Terms for commission or service exchange regarding exclusive referrals for wedding and corporate events are subject to further discussion.
  • We provide SOHO with a portfolio of work shot at the venue (after our first weddings) for their own marketing use
  • AK Studio handles all client communication, contracts, and delivery independently
  • We maintain full creative and business autonomy. SOHO's role is the introduction

The Tailored Package starts with a free consultation where we learn what matters to you, and then we build something that fits.

How We Work

Free Consultation
Both photographers do photography out of passion and do not want to just sell you a package, therefore we offer a free consultation in person to understand your needs and then we suggest which option is suitable to meet your expectations.

Before the Wedding
After booking, we schedule a planning session to walk through the timeline, discuss the couple's priorities, and plan how to use SOHO's spaces. We handle coordination with any other vendors as needed.

On the Day
Anastasia leads the creative direction and shoots the primary angles: ceremony, portraits, details, and the moments that define the day. Obada covers the second perspective: candid guest reactions, behind-the-scenes moments, and everything happening in another part of the venue at the same time.
No rigid shot lists. No forced poses. We direct when it helps and step back when the moment speaks for itself.

About AK Studio

We met a few years ago through the photography community in Zurich. Anastasia was already deep into her own practice; Obada was building his. We kept crossing paths at events, traded notes, and eventually someone asked if we could cover a large regional event together. We said yes, and it just worked.
That first collaboration turned into dozens more. Cultural festivals, corporate galas, community celebrations, some with well over 3,000 people. The scale taught us how to move fast, read a room, and trust each other without needing to talk through every shot.
But it was weddings that made us realize we were a real team. We both come from cultures where a wedding is not just a party. It is the event. A once-in-a-lifetime day that carries real weight, real emotion, and real meaning for everyone in the room. We grew up understanding that, and we carry that attitude into every wedding we photograph.
Anastasia brings over 16 years of experience across illustration, film, and studio photography. She leads the creative direction, the editing, and the overall visual story. Obada brings calm precision, a sharp eye for candid moments, and the ability to keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes. He reads the room, anticipates what comes next, and makes sure nothing important gets missed.
Together, we bring artistic vision and operational reliability that is hard to replicate with a single photographer.
